Tree Plantation Initiative – Brikharopon & Barsha Mongol 2019

On this auspicious day we got up early with our kids to make HSR Layout greener. We loved the endeavour of planting 50 saplings that day. We also prayed for good rains in the monsoon season, through songs of Kobiguru Rabindranath. Our kids danced with the music. We sang and danced around the park inspired by the Barshamongol celebrations of Shantiniketan.

This was our CSR activity for this year.

Annual Picnic 2019

This is the ever anticipated event of BARSHA, where even seniors becomes kids. Of course it is our loving picnic. Picnic in bengali is “Choruibhati”, where as kids we used to enjoyed going with our parents in kolkata, namely the famous Diamond Harbour or Raichak etc. BARSHA brings back the essence of such picnic, with inhouse delicious food like, luchi , chollar daal, aloor dum followed with the famous maach bhaja (fish fry) and kochi pathar jhol (mutton curry). The venue is handpicked so that it provides us to play football (the favourite sports of Bengal) , cricket, volleyball etc…with the ladies enjoying moments of antakshari, dumbcharades , so on and so forth. Kids enjoy in their own unrestricted way amidst nature.

This year we were on the foothills of Nandi Hills Bangalore.

BARSHA HSR RUN 2018 – 3k/5k – Run for a Cause

We here at BARSHA take up CSR activities very seriously. We took up in our stride to support the Samarthan Trust of the Disabled through our HSR 3k/5K Run. We publicised this in Bookmyshow and eventshigh like sites, and encouraged all our members and their friends and families to participate. It was a highly professional event, starting with Zumba and floor exercises, and then the run starting first with 5k and then 3k. We had an overwhelming response with over 150 people from all over Bangalore participated. Water, glucose and biscuits were handed out in various kiosks across HSR along the run route. We handed over certificates to everyone on the successful completion of the event. All the money collected were given in support of the Samarthan Trust for the Disabled. We look forward to many such events in the  days to come.

After our tremendous success of Durga Puja 2016, Kali Puja 2016, Annual Picnic 2017 – people around HSR and Bangalore wanted more. We performed our Saraswati Puja in February 2017 at the same venue. Although it was a weekday (Wednesday) – we still saw more than 300 people offered Anjali in the morning and more than 700 people gathered in the evening.
